Carved stone musicians from 12th century Wasconia
[english] | [euskara]
These musicians are displayed on the façade of the 12th century church of Sainte Croix in Bordeaux (Gascony).
Their instruments are clearly distinguishable and may indeed bear witness of their common usage in the Early Middle Ages in the Duchy of Wasconia.
These are the instruments (from top to bottom):
Harp/Lyre
Tambourine
Horn/Clarinet
Bagpipes
